Final smoking day is two weeks away
I have set a date in two weeks to by my final smoking date. I think I'm ready. I have a big party that night, and that will be my final "last day". Or at least that is the promise I'm making myself about quitting.

Ive not had a smoke for seven weeks. Once nicotine is out of your system ( 3 days) the worst of physical withdrawal is over. After this it's psycological. If you have one smoke, you put yourself back to square one. Once clear of nicotine for 3 days, chewing nicotine gum, or patches will make you worse, its as bad as smoking. Stopping smoking is simple, but not easy, just dont smoke. The longer you go without smoking, the memory fades and it gets easier. There are more ex smokers than smokers aparently, so its doable. The vast majority of them quit Cold Turkey. Dont think of eternity, take one day at a time, or one hour at a time if necesary. "I'm not going to smoke today" Good luck!!

If you can go 3 days without nicotine, you are over the worst part of physical withdrawal symptoms. Any smoking, nicotine patches, or gum etc after this will mean you have to go through withdrawal again, not nice! Stopping smoking is simple but not easy. Don't smoke! Every time you do its back to square one, for proof of this, look at your own record! Don't think of eternity, just take one day at a time, or one hour at a time. If you feel yourself about to cave, get out of the situation you are in. Don't think you can have "just one", you either have none, or return to your full habit, or like you, live life in the constant torment of withdrawal. There are about as many ex smokers as there are smokers, so it is by no meand impossible. Good luck!!

Hey there,
How is it going? Have you continued in your efforts to quit smoking?
I was just posting in my quit smoking blog, and was curious to see if anyone else had quit smoking blogs--I'm happy to see that Google turned up several. The times are changing, at least here in the United States. People really are quitting--I read recently in several different news articles that the smoking rate has hit a historic low of 20% or less of the American population since 2003. Now is a great time to quit.
I hope things are well with you, and I wish you the best for your quit.
Sincerely,
Ex (as in ex-smoker) :)

To quit smoking, you have to be ready mentally. My dad smoked for 23 years then he didn't see the benefit of smoking anymore, therefore he was read y to quit. He just quit in one day.
